The quartet’s third album titled A Place To Land was issued in 2007. There is no doubt that such attention from the National Academy Of Recording Arts proved the highest level of Little Big Town.
Moreover, The Road To Here was nominated for Grammy Award in the category the Best Country Album and the composition Boondocks was nominated for the Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals. The release of The Road To Here took place in 2005 and soon that strong long play was certified Platinum. In 2005 Little Big Town signed the contract with Equity Music Group and started working on the new studio attempt. The musicians had to look for the jobs however they found time and strength to continue touring.
Soon after the first release took place, the members of the quartet experienced the difficult time: Jimi Westbrook’s dad died, Fairchild and Sweet divorced with their spouses and the label’s activity was held up. That album included such hits as Don't Waste My Time and Everything Changes, which were presented in famous Billboard magazine’s country-chart. Later the quartet signed another contract with Monument Records, and it worked out much better: the self-titled debut work Little Big Town was issued in 2002. Little Big Town signed the contract with Mercury Nashville Records however no singles or albums were released. The quartet was named Little Big Town and the musicians began working on the new material.
After the graduation they moved to Nashville and started performing as a duo, and by 1998 they were joined by Jimi and Phillip. The history of American country music band Little Big Town began in late eighties, when Kimberly and Karen met while studying in Samford University.
